Ceylon Tea showcased at “Shop Global, Help Local” in Manila


The International Bazaar Foundation’s Annual Bazaar which was celebrating its Golden Jubilee showcased Ceylon Tea at a well-received presentation through the Pavilion organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Manila. Conceptualized on the theme   “Enjoy a Good Cup of Ceylon Tea”, the Pavilion was declared open by Hon. Perfecto R. Yasay, Jr., Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, and Mme. Cecile Yasay, Chairperson of the International Bazaar Foundation (IBF) and Sri Lanka’s Ambassador in Manila, Mrs. Aruni Ranaraja, together with the Members of the Board of Trustees of the IBF.


The Sri Lanka Pavilion was graced by the presence of former Philippines President Fidel V. Ramos and former First Lady Madam Amelita “Ming” Ramos.


The event is organized by the International Bazaar Foundation Inc., (IBF), Department of Foreign Affairs, Spouses of Heads of Mission (SHOM) and members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps on 27th November 2016 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel, Manila.

The large number of guests who visited the Pavilion was served with fresh cup of Ceylon Tea, selecting from a wide range of blends and flavours on offer.

The Pavilion organized by the Embassy was partnered by the Sri Lanka Tea Board, George Steuarts, Basilur Tea and Sri Lankan Airlines GSA Manila.
