Sri Lanka- Philippines sharing knowledge in Defence Cooperation

A sixteen (16) member delegation headed by Commandant Major General Jeewaka Ruwan Kulatunga from the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) of Sri Lanka visited the Philippines from to 10th to 21st August 2017.

The 12 day comprehensive study programme included among others a visit to General Headquarters (GHQ), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Armed Forces of the Philippines Education, Training and Doctrines Command (AFPETDC), National Security Council (NSC).

The delegation also had substantive meetings and briefings at the Department Foreign Affairs (DFA), Headquarters Philippine Navy (HPN), Headquarters Philippine Air Force (HPAF), National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), Arms Corporation of the Philippines (ARMSCOR), Headquarters Philippine Army (HPA), Headquarters Philippine Marine Corps (HPMC) and Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The Overseas Study Tour (OST) to the Philippines has been an Annual programme of the DSCSC, Sri Lanka, since 2014. The OST programme to the Philippines has benefited both the faculty members and students of DSCSC to gain first-hand knowledge of the functions of various military and civil establishments in the Philippines.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Manila in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) organized the study visit for the year 2017.
