Exploring Opportunities for Sri Lankan Products from the Health and Wellness Sector

In line with the initiative to explore platforms for the entry and distribution of more Sri Lankan products in the Philippine market, Mrs. Thanuja Dissanayake, Minister/Head of Chancery, and Mr. Gerald Nuñez, Trade Officer, paid a visit at the first branch of Nova Wellness Store in Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.

Nova Wellness Store is a growing retail chain of community wellness stores engaged in the distribution and sale of various organic, vegan, non-GMO, cruelty-free and other better-for-you products. It is the newest venture of Rezostar Corporation, the local exclusive distributor of high-quality variants of Jones Tea and ayurvedic and herbal soaps of Chandanelepa from Sri Lanka.

As a result of the visit, Rezostar Corporation has expressed its interest to explore more products from Sri Lanka particularly healthy snacks (fruits, nuts, organic chips, confectionaries, etc.) for a potential distribution engagement in the Philippines through their concept store. The Embassy was also invited to grace the opening of their Bonifacio Global City (BGC) branch in January 2021.

With the global trend towards healthy living and the popularity of organic and sustainably-produced goods in the Philippines, the cultivation of awareness and the promotion of such products are among the priorities of the Embassy in the Philippines.
