Donation of Books by a Sri Lankan Distinguished Fellow and Professor of the Asian Institute Management

Dr. Nihal Amerasinghe, a Sri Lankan and a Distinguished Fellow and Professor of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM), paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Shobini Gunasekera on 29th March 2022 and gifted two books he has written titled: “Design, Appraisal and Management of Sustainable Development Projects” (746 pages), and “International Financial Institutions and Development in Asia” (507 pages), to be handed over to the relevant line Ministries in Sri Lanka.

These books are widely used by Universities and Researchers and sold internationally by Amazon.

Dr. Amerasinghe joined the AIM in 2002 after an illustrious career of over two decades at the Asian Development Bank (ADB). His last position at ADB was Director General for Agriculture and the Social Sectors Department. Prior to his work at ADB, he was an academic at the Australian National University and the University of Sri Lanka.

He has also received many international accolades for his contributions to development and education in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2015, he was recognized as a Global Laureate in education by the International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England. He is also an expert in Development Management, Economics and Social Development, Agriculture and Rural Development, Project Planning, Design and Management, Environmental Management, and Agricultural Economics.
