“Ceylon Tea” showcased at the International Bazaar 2019

 

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Manila participated at the International Bazaar 2019 held on 24 November 2019 at the PICC Forums 1-3, CCP Complex, Pasay City, Philippines.

Ceylon tea, in various forms and brands, is one of the top exports of Sri Lanka to the Philippines. As evidenced by the popularity of tea-based drinks in the country, there is an increase on the consumption of Ceylon tea among Filipinos as most of them are getting aware of its benefits.

The Sri Lankan booths, designed to showcase Ceylon tea as one of the country’s best products, were officially launched with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp attended by Mrs. Helen Gamboa-Sotto, Spouse of Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Mrs. Maria Lourdes B. Locsin, Chairperson of International Bazaar Foundation, Embassy officials and other distinguished guests.

International Bazaar 2019, with this year’s theme “Shop The World, Show You Care” is a fund-raising event organized by the International Bazaar Foundation in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic and Consular Corps of the Philippines and the Spouses of the Heads of Mission. Proceeds of this event will benefit the livelihood and scholarship projects of the foundation for its beneficiaries throughout the Philippines.
